I do not know the answer yet but seeking one in earnest! As ether has climbed it has made my desire to convert USD to ETH for the sake of collecting NFTs challenging to financially carry through and at the same time stay within my budget for my ceiling project and others.
I have used Venmo to purchase art from an artist and it went through smoothly. Using Zelle would also be another option. These two methods will work for USA based collector-artist transactions. In other countries this may not work. I know that Venmo and Zelle USA-Canada transactions are not possible.
An alternative would be to use USDC coins. It's crypto so that should work out smoother for people that do not have Venmo or Zelle accounts. I have found however that this method would work with OpenSea but not Foundation. I still need to try this method and see how it works through.
A scenario that I want to try out is as follows: Select an NFT I want to collect. Notice that the sell price is 1.00 ETH. The converted current price in USD, let's say is $1,600.00 USD. I contact the artist and say I want to get the NFT. The artist checks to see what the gas fee will be to gift the NFT to me. I pay the artist first in USDC plus the gas fee. After the artist receives payment they transfer the NFT to me.
I see this as a win-win for the collector and the artist.
I am learning every day more and more how the crypto world, NFTs, etc. works. Many of my friends and relatives are reluctant to get into the space. Welcome to the brave new world everyone!
I'm out of crypto, I do not wish to convert USD to ETH at this time. What other alternative is there to support NFT artists and collect more NFTs for my project using an alternate payment method?
